Terms of Service

1. Who can use Potpuri
You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to online services without a parent or guardian, that higher age applies to you.
2. Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got in.
3. What you can read
The current shelf contains public-domain books, available free without a daily limit. Paid membership adds the AI reading companion, not additional book access.
4. Your highlights and quotes
Your highlights belong to you. When you share a quote you give us permission to display that excerpt on a public page and in link previews. You can delete a highlight at any time, which removes its public page.
5. Publisher uploads
If you upload a work to Potpuri, you represent and warrant that:
- you are the rights holder, or you are authorised by the rights holder to upload and distribute it on Potpuri;
- the work does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- the information you give about the work, including authorship and rights, is accurate.
Responsibility for verifying rights sits with the uploader. You agree to indemnify Potpuri against claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from a work you uploaded in breach of these warranties.
We may review, refuse, or remove any upload. We may suspend accounts that repeatedly upload infringing works. We expect to introduce a verification step for publishers; until then, the warranty above is what we rely on, alongside our own review.
6. Reporting a work
If you believe a work on Potpuri infringes your rights, tell us atthe report page. We review notices and remove or disable access to material where the notice is substantiated, and we tell the uploader why.
7. Payment
Founding Plus costs €20 per year, renews annually at €20 until cancelled, and is limited to the first 50 subscriptions. It includes 100 new AI explanations or translations per calendar month, resetting on the first day at midnight UTC. Unused requests do not roll over. New provider attempts count even if the provider fails; reusing a saved card translation does not. Short request-spacing and service-wide safety limits also apply. Cancel renewal on You at any time; access continues until the paid year ends. Stripe securely handles payment details. Statutory withdrawal and refund rights are unaffected by this section.
8. Acceptable use
Do not scrape or bulk-download the catalogue, circumvent AI usage limits, harass other readers, or upload work you have no right to. We may suspend accounts that do.
9. Availability
We work to keep Potpuri running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. A work may become unavailable if a licence ends or a rights claim is upheld.
10. Changes
We will give notice in the app before material changes take effect.
